ٱلْعَزِيز — Al-Aziz — The Almighty, The Exalted in Might, The Invincible
No one can overpower Him. His honor is absolute. He grants honor to whom He wills.

رَبَّنَا وَٱبْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
“Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
This is the du'a of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ismail (Ishmael) (Peace Be Upon Them) as they built the Kaaba — praying for a prophet to come to their descendants. They close their prayer with Al-Aziz Al-Hakim — the Almighty, the All-Wise. قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
“Say: O ALLAH, Owner of sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.”
Quran 3:26 shows the izzah of Al-Aziz in motion: honor (izz) and humility (dhull) — the raising up and the bringing down of people and nations — is in ALLAH's hands. Human power rises and falls according to His will.
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
“And to ALLAH belongs all honor, and to His messenger, and to the believers.”
True honor belongs to ALLAH. The honor of believers is a derivative of ALLAH's honor — given to those He loves and has chosen.

Al-Aziz teaches that no power anywhere in creation is truly independent. Every human authority, every force in nature, every power that seems overwhelming — all of it operates within the limits of what Al-Aziz permits.
