Aqeedahعقيدة(ʿAqīdah)aqeedah: Islamic creed or theology — the core set of beliefs that every Muslim must hold. Includes belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree (qadar).

Five Pillars of Islamأركان الإسلام(Arkān al-Islām)worship: The five foundational acts of worship in Islam: (1) Shahada (declaration of faith), (2) Salah (five daily prayers), (3) Zakat (obligatory charity), (4) Sawm (fasting in Ramadan), (5) Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca once in a lifetime if able).

Hadithحديث(Ḥadīth)foundations: A recorded report of the sayings, actions, or approvals of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Authentic hadith form the Sunnah. Major collections include Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and the four Sunan.

Q

Quranقرآن(Qurʾān)foundations: The final revelation from Allah, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through Angel Jibreel over 23 years. The primary source of Islamic guidance, consisting of 114 chapters (surahs) and approximately 6,236 verses.

Shahadaشهادة(Shahādah)foundations: The declaration of faith: "There is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." It is the first pillar of Islam and the entry point into the faith.
Shirkشرك(Shirk)aqeedah: Associating partners with Allah in worship, attributes, or lordship. The opposite of Tawheed. It is the gravest sin in Islam — the only sin Allah does not forgive if a person dies upon it without repentance.
Salahصلاة(Ṣalāh)worship: The ritual prayer performed five times daily. It is the second pillar of Islam and the most regular act of worship. Salah requires Wudu (ritual purification) and facing the Qiblah (direction of Mecca).
Sunnahسنة(Sunnah)foundations: The recorded words, actions, approvals, and characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Together with the Quran, it forms the foundation of Islamic law and practice. Preserved in collections known as Hadith.

Tawheedتوحيد(Tawḥīd)aqeedah: The Islamic concept of the absolute oneness and uniqueness of Allah. The most fundamental principle in Islam, it affirms that Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and sole object of worship.
Tawakkulتوكل(Tawakkul)aqeedah: Complete trust and reliance in Allah after taking all necessary means. Tawakkul is not passivity but the combination of effort and trust in Allah's will and wisdom.

Ummahأمة(Ummah)community: The global Muslim community — all those who believe in Islam, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, or language. The concept emphasizes brotherhood, unity, and collective responsibility.

Wuduوضوء(Wuḍū)worship: Ritual purification (ablution) performed with water before prayer. Involves washing the hands, rinsing the mouth and nose, washing the face and arms, wiping the head and ears, and washing the feet.
