The Quran is the revelation from ALLAH. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) did not invent it. ALLAH revealed the Quran to him through the angel Jibril (Gabriel). Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) then recited it, taught it, explained it, and lived by it.
Muslims follow two main sources: the Quran and the authentic Sunnah. The Sunnah means the teachings, actions, approvals, and example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him).
Simple point: The Quran is ALLAH’s word. The Sunnah is how the Prophet ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) explained and lived that word. Together, they are the complete guidance for Muslims.
Muslims follow Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) because ALLAH commanded believers to follow His Messenger. Following him means learning:

Muslims love Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) deeply. They respect him, follow his example, and send peace and blessings upon him. But Muslims do not worship him.
Worship belongs only to ALLAH. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) was a servant and Messenger of ALLAH. This is why the Shahada says:
Muhammadur Rasul ALLAH
Muhammad is the Messenger of ALLAH.
It does not say Muhammad is divine. He is ALLAH’s Messenger — loved, respected, and followed. ALLAH alone is worshipped.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) was known for truthfulness, trustworthiness, mercy, patience, courage, justice, humility, and deep concern for people. Even before prophethood, the people of Makkah called him Al-Amin — the trustworthy one.
Quran 68:4
His character matters because Islam is not only belief in the heart. It also teaches how to live, speak, worship, forgive, and treat others. The Prophet ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) showed all of this through his daily life.
ALLAH describes His reason for sending Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) directly in the Quran:

His message brought people from worshipping created things to worshipping the Creator alone. It taught mercy, justice, family responsibility, charity, prayer, repentance, and care for the weak. It was not only for Arabs — it was for all of humanity.
The second part of the Shahada — the declaration of faith — is:
